Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) applicants in Nepal must meet the following citizenship requirements:

1. You must be a Nepalese citizen or a legal resident of Nepal
2. You must hold a valid Nepalese citizenship certificate.
3. Nepalese visas are required for foreign nationals.

It is necessary for applicants to have:

1. There are no unresolved legal cases in Nepal
2. No outstanding legal obligations within the country

1. PCC applicants must be at least 16 years old
2. A parent or guardian must apply on behalf of a minor under 16.

You can apply for your police clearance certificate or police report online by following these steps:

Visit the Police Clearance Certificate Portal in Nepal. Online police reports can also be requested through the Nagarik app and follow these steps: 

• open your web browser and go to the Online Police Clearance Registration System.
• Make sure your internet connection is stable and secure.
• Get familiar with the portal’s layout and options.

• Click “Register” if you don’t have an account.

• Select your Residency and click on “Next.”
• Enter your “First”, “Middle”, and “Last” names.
• Select your “Gender”.
• Enter your “Mobile Number” and “Email”.
• Fill out the “CAPTCHA” and click on the “Register” button.

A registration email will be sent to you. Copy your username and password from the email you received from the police report registration system and proceed to the login page.

• Login to your newly created account.
• Now that you’ve logged into your account, it’s time to change your password. Enter your old password and new password in your email address. You will be redirected to your login page after changing your password. Using your new password, proceed to the next step of the online application process.

Fill out the PCC application form once you have set up your account: Once you’ve logged into the online police clearance application system, you can now start filling it out. The stages will be as follows.

Upon logging in, you will automatically be directed to your personal information page. Under this personal information menu, you will now enter your Name, spouse’s Name if married, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of birth, upload an MRP scanned photo, and select the purpose of your application. Remember, you must select the option Apply with citizenship and passport for applying police report for visa purposes. Go to the next option after that.

Upon completing the personal menu, you will be redirected to the address menu. Make sure you know your citizenship format before filling out your address information. Citizens of Nepal hold two types of citizenship cards, one from before federalism the old format and the other from after federalism was established the new format.  Identify your citizenship card type and enter your information exactly as it appears on the card.

Enter your citizenship card and passport details and upload your scanned documents. Merge pages 30 and 31 of your passport if it is in the old format, then upload it. In the option of additional documents, you can upload your scanned documents to support any other supporting documents you have.

2. Download and Install  “ Nagarik APP ” on your smartphone.

3.   Open the app and  Select the language 

4. Enter your registered contact number and click “Enter”, an OTP will be received on your mobile number, fill this OTP or app will automatically detect your OTP. 

Note:  Through the SIM cards of Nepal Telecom, Ncell, and Smart Telcom, the app can be used. To operate this app, the SIM card must be in one’s name, according to the Citizen App Operation Guideline. In order to prevent identity theft from occurring, the Telecommunications Authority has asked service recipients to use only the SIM card registered in their name.

5. A person must provide details of his/her citizenship, voter ID, passport, and driving license in order to receive the service.

Remember the following for police report 

• It is necessary to be linked to Nagarikapp citizenship
• The passport must also be linked to Nagarikapp if the police report is for visa purposes.

6. Linking the passport click on the passport tab, fill in  passport number , date of birth and click to proceed.

7.   Click on the option of Police Clearance Certificate

8.  Click on “ Request Report ” 

 

9. Fill out your personal information and upload  your passport size photo 

Picture Size for Police Report: The required photo size is 35mm x 45mm. These photos must be color, have a borderless, white background, and show 70-80% of the face with the body taking up 20-30% of the image. The resolution should be between 600 to 1200 DPI, with a file size ranging from 1 MB to 2.5 MB.

Your PCC will be available after the verification process is complete. You should return to the same police station with:

Once you have obtained your Police Clearance Certificate, you can apply for consular attestation stamp in your police report.  Visit the official website of the Department of Consular services for police report online payment .

Enter the Captcha and proceed to next option.

Now Enter your dispatch number and Date of birth then click on next button. Dispatch number is located at top left of the downloaded police clerance certificate.

Make sure the displayed contents are true and accurate. Enter your mobile number and click on next button.

Here you will find payment options, payment through visiting Bank printing the bank Voucher or Payment via Mobile wallet. Here you will understand how to use your mobile wallet esewa or Khalti to pay your Police report consular attestation payment.

Copy EBP No and Reference Number to your notepad or screenshot your device. EBP No. is useful for your Esewa or Khalti wallet payment and Reference No. is useful for Downloading your final attested police clearance certificate.

Now after copying Reference number and EBP number, open your esewa app.

Select and click on Govt. Payment.

Enter EBP No. you copied before and enter Amount NRS 500 thent proceed for payment.

After you complete your payment via mobile wallets your processing is automatically forwarded by the system for Stamp in Police report certificate. It usually takes 2 working days to process your attestation of Police clearance Certificate then you will only be able to download the final attested document.

After 2 working days visit https://att.nepalconsular.gov.np/

Click on Download Attested PCC button located at top right of website. 

Enter reference number and Dispatch number of your police clerance certificate.

After  processing is done  a notification “success ! your document process is completed ! Please download attested police clerance certificate !”  is displayed at the top of the page, You can download your attested police clerance certificate and your payment receipt.
