Step 1: Visit the Official Nepal Police Website

Visit the Police Clearance Certificate Portal in Nepal. Online police reports can also be requested through the Nagarik app and follow these steps: 

Step 2: Create an Account

  • Click “Register” if you don’t have an account.
  • Select your Residency and click on “Next.”
  • Enter your “First”, “Middle”, and “Last” names.
  • Select your “Gender”.
  • Enter your “Mobile Number” and “Email”.
  • Fill out the “CAPTCHA” and click on the “Register” button.
How to apply for police report in Nepal?

A registration email will be sent to you. Copy your username and password from the email you received from the police report registration system and proceed to the login page.

  • Login to your newly created account.
  • Now that you’ve logged into your account, it’s time to change your password. Enter your old password and new password in your email address. You will be redirected to your login page after changing your password. Using your new password, proceed to the next step of the online application process.

Step 3: Fill out the application form

Fill out the PCC application form once you have set up your account: Once you’ve logged into the online police clearance application system, you can now start filling it out. The stages will be as follows.

1. Personal Information

Upon logging in, you will automatically be directed to your personal information page. Under this personal information menu, you will now enter your Name, spouse’s Name if married, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of birth, upload an MRP scanned photo, and select the purpose of your application. Remember, you must select the option Apply with citizenship and passport for applying police report for visa purposes. Go to the next option after that.

2. Address

Upon completing the personal menu, you will be redirected to the address menu. Make sure you know your citizenship format before filling out your address information. Citizens of Nepal hold two types of citizenship cards, one from before federalism the old format and the other from after federalism was established the new format.  Identify your citizenship card type and enter your information exactly as it appears on the card.

3. Documents

Enter your citizenship card and passport details and upload your scanned documents. Merge pages 30 and 31 of your passport if it is in the old format, then upload it. In the option of additional documents, you can upload your scanned documents to support any other supporting documents you have.

  • To monitor progress, go to “View Application Status” in the portal.  
  • There are three possible statuses: “Processing,” “Approved,” or “Rejected,” with processing typically taking 2-3 working days, though verification from other districts can extend this period.

2. Download and Install  “ Nagarik APP ” on your smartphone.

3.   Open the app and  Select the language 

4. Enter your registered contact number and click “Enter”, an OTP will be received on your mobile number, fill this OTP or app will automatically detect your OTP. 

5. A person must provide details of his/her citizenship, voter ID, passport, and driving license in order to receive the service.

Remember the following for police report

  • The passport must also be linked to Nagarikapp if the police report is for visa purposes.

Step 1: Visit the local police station
