Driving License Setup & Fine Payment On Nagarik App

The Nagarik App is a mobile based digital platform developed by the Government of Nepal to provide easy access to various public services. Designed to simplify the interaction between citizens and state institutions, the app brings a wide range of administrative services into one centralized system. Among its many features, Driving License Setup & Fine Payment On Nagarik App are two of its most valuable tools for vehicle owners and drivers.

With the Nagarik App, users can access services without needing physical documents or lengthy visits to government offices. Once your information is linked, the app also functions offline ideal for users in areas with limited internet connectivity. One major benefit is that traffic police across Nepal now accept the digital driving license stored in the app, making it a recognized alternative to physical documentation.

Linking your digital driving license in the Nagarik App is simple. Follow these steps to complete the process:

1. Download the App

Install the Nagarik App from either the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). If you want to know more information about how to download Nagarik App Click on the link how to download Nagarik App.

4. Enter License Details

Input your driver license number. The app will automatically retrieve your records from the Department of Transport Management database. If your license is already linked, it will be displayed immediately.

5. View Your Digital License

You will now see a digital version of your license, including a QR code that officials can scan for verification.

This QR based system ensures authenticity and simplifies roadside inspections by traffic personnel.

A digital chit or e-Challan is an electronic record of a traffic violation issued by authorized officers. Instead of receiving a paper slip, offenders are issued fines through a digital platform. This helps reduce corruption, enhances record keeping, and improves accountability.

When a driver commits a traffic offense, traffic police scan the QR code on the digital license using their own application. The violation is registered instantly and becomes visible in the driver Nagarik App profile under the “Violation Records” tab.

When you are stopped by traffic police for a traffic rule violation, the entire penalty process is now handled digitally using the e-Challan system. Here is how it works:

  • QR Code Scan by Traffic Police:
The officer will scan the QR code on your digital driving license through the Nagarik App using their official device.
  • Digital Challan Issuance:
Once scanned, the officer enters the details of the violation such as the vehicle type, number, and nature of the offense. The app then automatically generates a digital challan (fine).
  • Accessing Violation Details:
After the challan is issued, you can view it in the “Driving License” section of your Nagarik App. It will include the fine amount, the challan number, and a brief description of the traffic rule that was broken.
